ShopSpindle exists to provide technically accurate, practical information for CNC machinists and manufacturing engineers. We measure success by whether our content helps real people make better decisions in real machine shops — not by page views, affiliate commissions, or sponsored placement.

Review Process

Every article published on ShopSpindle goes through the following steps:

  1. Draft: Written by a member of the editorial team with background in manufacturing engineering
  2. Technical review: Reviewed by a working machinist or manufacturing engineer with direct experience in the topic area. Reviewers confirm numerical claims, flag incorrect assumptions, and suggest practical nuances from shop-floor experience
  3. Source check: All numerical claims (speeds, forces, tolerances, material properties) are verified against a primary source before publication
  4. Publication: Published with date stamp. Significant updates receive a "Updated:" date stamp
